Temple Bar - and some people in Mayo jerseys - randomly pop up in this new Netflix film

The film is set in Atlanta. Do they have Burdocks in Atlanta?

ON FRIDAY, NETFLIX released its latest original film, Step Sisters.

Shot on location in Atlanta, Georgia (this is an important detail for later), it follows a black sorority president as she attempts to teach some hard-partying white sorority gals how to step dance.

They definitely got a lot of inspiration from Bring It On and Pitch Perfect, we’ll just say:

Towards the end of the film, there’s a scene in which the whole gang let their hair down in a college bar, and that college bar happens to be in… Temple Bar?

We’re supposed to be in Atlanta, but there’s Burdock’s chipper and The Old Storehouse on Crown Alley, complete with bouncer out front.

There are also – and this is the most amazing bit – some people in Mayo jerseys strolling on by. Must have been a match on.

When we go inside, the Mayo jerseys have vanished, and it’s just your typical American bar:

According to the credits, the footage comes from a stock images agency that sources content from around the world, so they probably just searched ‘nice bar’ and that shot came up.

There goes our dream of the filmmakers either a) going to Dublin just for a two-second shot of The Old Storehouse or b) specifically asking RTÉ for footage of All Ireland Final day in Temple Bar. Ah well.
